Why am I on your friends list?

Comment and tell me, then (if you like) post this in your journal so I can tell you why you're on mine.

Because you're mondo cool and I love reading your stuff, even if I don't comment very often.

I think i was playing with interest searches and, that you were feline friendly, in the Bay area, with an interest in artesinal cheeses triggered an interest. And then your bio sounded interesting. So, i added. You've remained interesting, even though i haven't had many comments to make.

Because I liked you on Usenet and I continue to like you here. And I met you at Wiscon. And you have points of view that differ from mine enough to be interesting and not so much as to piss me off.

You are on a few lists I'm on and I ALWAYS read your posts. You have a wonderful and clear way of writing about many issues that are near and dear to my heart (fat politics, health, poly to name a few.) You work hard at cutting through the bulls**t but keep an open enough mind to not dismiss everything out of hand. But when sarcasm is called for you can let it fly! I knew you in person even before I became aware of you on-line. Finally, I Love Your Sig Files.

You already know this, I think ... I've been reading your words for a long time. On the alt.poly forum, on the poly website, probably others. Your writing especially around jealousy has been very helpful to me. When I found out your LJ name, I had to add it; I feel like I know you already!

If you've never seen a moocow explode, that's probably a good thing, in the springtime of our aardvark's concentration.

Because we share several communities and I like to keep up with things and you're never boring.

I think I'm answering these all wrong. I always think, from where do I know this person? So my impulse here is to say simply, alt. poly, as if that said everything. Cats, plants, poetry, very good sense, how could I not?

Because, having lived in Japan awhile, I, too, share a deep ambivilance toward Hello Kitty.

I saw your comments on friends' posts, and then on my own, and I like the way you think. Someday I would like to meet you FTF.

Mainly because I knew you for ages on usenet and then met you in person and liked your personality and attitude.

May. 23rd, 2005 08:25 pm (UTC)
For the same reason you're on my alt.poly autoselect list. But I've forgotten what that is, precisely - and now it would be unthinkable to miss what you have to say.

Um, that could be why, actually.
May. 23rd, 2005 08:33 pm (UTC)
I read and enjoyed your posts in friends' friends lists and then realized you were someone whom I'd been reading for years on Usenet.
May. 23rd, 2005 11:10 pm (UTC)
Y? Because we LIKE you.

You're someone I trust and of whom I think highly for reasons of smartness and goodness and well-crafted expression and openness-despite-shyness-and-without-gooshiness and, besides, a wicked but understated sense of humor. I like it when you look skeptical. You just need your CHEEKS pinched. Did we meet at APC7?

Maybe it's because you smell right.

Or, I can't remember if you're shy -- perhaps introvertedness was what I meant.
May. 24th, 2005 07:07 am (UTC)
I'm both shy and introverted...
May. 24th, 2005 01:31 am (UTC)
Because I liked you well enough to add you and have come to like you more since.
May. 24th, 2005 01:48 am (UTC)
I'd been reading your sensible, clear writing on a local list or two, and then kept seeing you here. I believe I added you before I discovered we had anyone special in common.
May. 24th, 2005 02:22 am (UTC)
Because you're a *kitty*
May. 24th, 2005 02:39 am (UTC)
You're interesting. I really like the way you wirte, most of the stuff you write about, and I know you in person.
May. 24th, 2005 03:36 am (UTC)
I like what you write, and how you write it.
We met at APC1.
We have several interests and friends in common.
May. 24th, 2005 04:41 am (UTC)
You're on my friends list because (frankly), I had a bit of a crush on you at one time, checked out your journal and found that I often enjoy your perspective on things, even if it doesn't agree with mine. :)
May. 24th, 2005 06:00 am (UTC)
'Cause you've quoted me several times in your .sig file.

That, and some other stuff... ;)
May. 24th, 2005 01:17 pm (UTC)
You write good, you snark good, and I don't have to ever explain polyamory, bdsm, or the bay area to you. :-)

You're one of the people whose posts I enjoyed on alt.poly, and here you post about stuff you make! And cats!
May. 25th, 2005 05:24 am (UTC)
Because you always have nice things to say, are a talented writer, and an interesting person. =)

Thank you for all your comments on my poetry, and my deepest apologies for not returning the favor as oft as I should. u,u I am glad I have gotten the opportunity to know you at least a bit through this thing...

May. 25th, 2005 05:27 am (UTC)

No apology necessary. You're a busy woman! And I'm glad to have LJ-met you too.

(I WILL get back to writing my 100 poems...life should be stopping kicking me in the ass any week now.)
May. 25th, 2005 04:52 pm (UTC)
Because you're interesting and sensible.
May. 25th, 2005 10:15 pm (UTC)
Because I've always found your perspective interesting, all the way back to when I was reading alt.poly over Akien's shoulder.
May. 26th, 2005 04:57 pm (UTC)
I always enjoyed your alt.poly posts. Your writing was so clear and you often wrote what I was thinking, but better than I could have written it. I can't remember exact instances, but you were friendly and encouraging and reading your posts, especially the ones that were directed at me, made me feel good.

Since I met you I have been drawn to you. I admire how your mind works and I find you to be very interesting, I want to know what you are thinking, saying and doing. In person you are one of the few people that I feel comfortable with spending time with.
