Colossal Clothing is proud to be affiliated with American Apparel, the largest and finest clothing maker in North America. All of our garments are made under special arrangement in the American Apparel sweatshop-free facilities, utilizing fair labor practices.
They offer T-shirts, tank tops, polo shirts, hoodies, and jackets to men's size 5XL. They have photos of most sizes on a model of that size.

Some of the models are hot! I only wish they had a women's section.

If only American Apparel's owner was a very creepy misogynistic asshole.

Argh. If only he wasn't a creep. Was not. Oy.

Yeah, I've heard. My respect for AA has gone up a notch as a result of their being willing to make plus-size clothing, but it's still not all that high.

Not that there should necessarily be a hierarchy, but I do think that having non-neanderthal attitudes towards 50% of the population of earth ranks somewhere above making clothes for fat people on the scale of things I'll give someone credit for. The first speaks to his character, the second speaks strictly to his desire to make $$$.

Yeah, I agree on all counts. Besides which, they aren't offering the clothing on their own site, and the colossal clothing site doesn't link to them (probably by their own preference).

I have a couple of AA t-shirts, and they're well-made. I'm sorry to hear the owner's a knuckle-dragger.

They've been using that same "big guys" photo on Big Fat Blog, and the guy with the glasses and the hat is so freaking adorable! It makes me grin every time I see him. :)

Oh yeah! (There are more pix of him on the colossalclothing site.)

our ears were burning

I'm married to the CEO and President of Colossal, and we love that you guys found us -- I've been cyberstalking today, because yesterday npr ran a story on us and I'm trying to see how it's pinged around the world ... you guys were several steps ahead of npr!

Anyway, I want to assure you guys that a) while American Apparel makes our clothes (we like their fair employment practices and the fact that they're in downtown LA) we are a completely separate business from AA and not associated in any way with AA's President/Creative Director.

We'd be happy to offer coupon codes to all of you! Enter LIVEJOURNAL for 10% off.

And: we think our models are adorable and charming and we're so glad you agree.

All best and happy shopping,

Sarah@colossalclothing.com
