She's on Xanax morning and evening, as well as Zoloft in the morning. The behaviourist said that she usually prefers Zoloft for separation anxiety and Paxil for fear aggression, but we're not going to switch right now, because of the time it would require without any meds in between. Instead of using the Xanax every day, I'm going to wean her off it and only use it when something anxiety-provoking, like a trip to the vet, is on the schedule. It can interfere with short term memory, which would make the behaviour mod more difficult. The new vet encouraged me to let Summer roam around the office today (with her muzzle on, which she doesn't mind), which is the first time that I haven't had to restrain Summer around people since she started acting out. She encouraged me to take Summer out to visit dog parks early in the morning to see if I can find dog people who would be more understanding of Summer's issues than the friends that have been trying to help me with her so far. I was dreading this appointment, and took forever to put together videos for the vet to look at, but I'm feeling so positive now!
