Most news headlines are nothing but useless fluff or fearmongering, but sometimes I think I should look at news headlines rather than getting all my news from Facebook. Lately when I feel this way I have been going to http://cnnmobile.com/primary/worldnews.

Today this appears as one of THREE HEADLINES in the "Middle East" section:

"Obese Saudi Arabian man sheds more than 300 pounds"

I fucking give up. HOW IS THAT WORLD NEWS?!?!?!

I feel this way every damn day. It is one of my pet peeves. Yesterday's headline news was that Jennifer Aniston changed how she does her hair. It drives me crazy.

!!!

The best headline source I've found is The Economist. You need a subscription to read more than a few of the actual articles per week, but you can read their front pages and their World Politics This Week column for free. They are pro-capitalism and snarky but not over-the-top fear-mongering or fluffy.
