"WMD just a convenient excuse for war, admits Wolfowitz"

It scares me a lot that he actually admits it - if the people involved had any concern about appeasing the public, they would at least have pretended to find weapons. That they didn't bother to pretend means either that they think the public doesn't care, or that they don't care whether the public cares.

I've heard a lot of people say things that boil down to "the end justifies the means," so I guess the public mostly doesn't care.

I don't like living in interesting times, dammit.

Me either... I wish there was something I could do about it; but right now, the most I can do is try to take care of myself, and not tear myself to shreds fretting about it. *sigh*

Oh that liberal media bias...
You may have seen this already, but Instapundit has a nice collection of links dissecting this topic at

Check out the actual transcript for yourself, and see if it says what some are trying to claim it says.

Re: Oh that liberal media bias...
I read the transcript, and I didn't find this item that the original article quotes Wolfowitz as saying: "For bureaucratic reasons we settled on one issue, weapons of mass destruction, because it was the one reason everyone could agree on."
