Poetry books meme

Last seen in papersky's journal:

Poets whose collected, selected or volumes of poetry one has on the shelf, excluding poetry and prose in one volume, excluding anthologies.

(The original meme, as seen in supergee's journal, also specified "They should be there by your choice (as opposed to being texts for courses, etc).")
  • Basho
  • George Bradley (I don't know if this counts as "there by my choice"; it's a Yale Series of Younger Poets winner; I used to read their slush pile, so I got a comp copy)
  • e.e. cummings
  • T. S. Eliot
  • James Joyce (in 1983, I photocopied a library book of Pomes Penyeach)
  • Marge Piercy
  • Sylvia Plath
  • Diane Di Prima
  • A. A. Milne
  • Rainer Maria Rilke
  • Adrienne Rich
  • Rumi (or should I say Coleman Barks - my favorite translator of Rumi, and I suspect him of being very liberal with his translations)
  • Mark Strand
I'm vaguely embarrassed by how small the list is. But I guess it's not so bad for my having spent 15 years hating poetry (as a result of the slush pile reading) and only recently coming out of that (thanks to a gift of Basho's Narrow Road: Spring and Autumn Passages.).
