Treating natural human variation via brain surgery
Carol...agreed to be the second person in the U.S. to undergo “the most radical treatment ever devised for obesity,” a treatment called Deep Brain Stimulation. Basically, surgeons drill into her brain and carefully poke around, sending electric currents into her brain until they identify the part that controls her hunger, feeling of satiation, etc. And then they implant “two brain pacemakers” into her chest that will send those same electric currents to her brain.

What's Your Personality Type?

I had a great deal of trouble choosing between some of the answers so I took it twice, the second time switching all the answers that I had trouble choosing between. I have never gotten the first result (ISFJ) before, although in the past I've scored S or J before. The second result (INTP) is what I have usually gotten on this type of personality test. There was one period in my life where I switched sort of suddenly and radically from T to F, and I thought I was over that, but I think maybe meditation practice has softened me somewhat. I guess that makes me an IXXX. Results, and my talking back to the results, are under the cut.
