earthquakelet!

I just felt a little one. (I hope it wasn't the remnants of a big one elsewhere.)

Re: This one? (or two?)
I think it was the first one; I posted about a minute after I felt it.

Me too! I felt a little woozy and rocky and then noticed that some necklaces and other hanging objects in the room were swaying as well. Now to find the USGS earthquake page ... oh OK, I guess it's one of the famous Parkfield earthquakes.

10:15, 6.0, Parkfield.

Many folks in my office, including me, thought it was either a quake or a moment of vertigo.

The bomb shelter of 70s architecture --666 Folsom-- I'm training at didn't quiver a bit.

6.0, centered down around Parkfield, which is pretty far south, about the same latitude as Porterville, in the coast range, about halfway between 101 and I-5.

I wondered what that little woozy feeling was, but yes, I felt it also.

Nothing on the news yet but it is showing up on this website:

How does the cat feel about such things?

I'm *so* starting to putty and anchor stuff next month. Or maybe TODAY!

Yipe!

She wasn't around at the time, but she seems fine now. The last time I felt an earthquake, she didn't seem to notice. She was on the bed; maybe she thought one of us was bouncing on the bed.

I haven't done any putty-and-anchor. But I don't have any bookshelves facing the bed.

You can log your earthquake experiences and see others' in a nice graphical format at http://pasadena.wr.usgs.gov/shake/ - it's like rilly kewl and is nearly instant because it's an contributed online database app.

I am visiting in Alameda this week next to the Encinal Basin. I didn't feel it, but my cow orkers on the third floor felt it distinctly.
