Bay Area Bead Extravaganza

Last weekend I went to the Bay Area Bead Extravaganza (BABE for short) (http://beadextravaganza.com/). I took a class called "Talisman Bracelet," taught by Susan Lenart Kazmer. She is a good teacher, tailors the instruction to the class and is very enthusiastic and encouraging. And I like her focus on found objects and simple tools. My bracelet isn't finished; I'll post a picture when it is. In the meantime, I'm posting pictures of the beads I bought. I decided to spend my budget on lampworked glass focal beads this year.

I also picked up some inexpensive non-glass beads.

We'll see if I can do these justice.

They're all purty! #5 and #7 are especially impressive to me.

Bea-yootiful! I love lampworked glass beads. I actually went on a bead hunt when I was in Venice last week, but found little in my price range that rivalled the artisan pieces you can (and did) find here in the States.
