bead crochet

By request, here are two images of a bracelet I made (while I was in Mendocino in September) using bead crochet.

I didn't like bead crochet. You have to string all the beads you plan to use before you do anything else, which I found boring. Then you have a huge string of beads to manage. I spilled some of them once or twice.

Hmn, I was just reading about bead crochet in Beadwork. Stringing all the beads beforehand sounds easier to me somehow (though I haven't tried this myself yet), because one could get into the bead-stringing assembly-line mentality. Of course, that's just me, and we already know that I have a fondness for repetitive motion in crafting. :)

I like repetitive motion too; the problem is that stringing very small beads isn't really a repetitive motion. You have to concentrate, and chase them around with the needle. At least I do. I don't have a bead-stringing gadget; I understand such things exist.

Forgot to mention that the bracelet looks good. That second photo really makes the beads glow!

They sure are purty beads, though!

Aren't they, though? I love AB-coated beads.

Pretty beads indeed, and they look lovely arranged like that. I wonder whether it'd work if they were "crocheted" on very fine silver wire instead of cotton?

(Btw, did you receive the email I sent you a few days ago? It's been a while since I've corresponded in a non-livejournally way with you, and I suppose I should check that the email address I used is still correct.)

I understand bead crocheting does work with wire, yes. I haven't tried it myself.

I'm afraid I didn't receive the email. I'm at stef at cat-and-dragon dot com, and if I know what address you're sending from, I'll put it in my white list so my spam filter doesn't try to eat it.

There we go. Sent it again to that address, from my usual one (teal at chromatic-dragonfly dot com). Didja get it?

[also emailed]

Waah! I didn't get the email, and it wasn't in my procmail log either.
I've now put your email address in my white list and am directing my
spam to a folder rather than /dev/null, so if you don't mind trying
again....

I was admiring that shot!

But the bracelet, too, is nifty.

I know what you mean about chhasing beads. Good thing to do with an audiobook.

Re: Super-macro
Thanks!

I use audiobooks while I'm driving but I have yet to use them while crafting. I usually watch TV. This may change once I've seen every episode of "Emergency vets" approximately 47 times.
