Better kitties

Biscuit came home last night; she seems alert and lively. She is on a special "EN" diet for a couple of days so we're keeping her upstairs and separated from Angus.

The vet doesn't know what caused the problem. I gather sudden mysterious tummy upsets are not uncommon in kitties.

My personal theory is some kind of not very digestible bug, but who knows?

One of the kitties I take care of is recovering from salmonella- courtesy of a bird she ate. I think sometimes cats do catch bugs from things they munch on when we're not looking...

It is, provisionally, a great relief to hear she is currently unbarfy.

Stimpy eats all kinds of bugs, I think ::sigh::

cat barfing
Steve for about the first year we had him would barf all the time for no reason that we could tell. In the last 6 months or so, that thankfully has stopped.

I'm beginning to suspect it was just a nervous stomach. Sean thinks it could have been related to his kittenhood on the street where he didn't get enough to eat, and so would eat too much when he had the chance, and then throw up.

These days I've noticed that Steve is a lot less skittish, and less barf-y. It's taken a long time, but he's a good cat, and I'm glad we've had the patience to put up with him. (He was at the humane society a long time, I suspect because of the vomit problem. I'm glad we found him, because I'm sure another family would have sent him back because of the vomit. It was that bad.)

Amber barfs fairly frequently, usually just after eating wet food. Since it doesn't seem to put her off eating wet food, we assume she's just got eyes too big for her stomach.

We call this Doing A Bulimia, and there's often another kitty who does Hot Lunch.

I used to have a cat named Amber...

Was zie ginger-coloured too? All of ours have ginger markings (of course, if you know Turkish Vans) but her head spots are paler, more amber-like than "the boys".

She was a long-haired cream. She had two long-haired cream kittens and two orange tabby kittens.

The missing sock?

It's sometimes hard to know.

I'm glad she's home.

I'm glad she's better.

(And yes! you sent me yarn. And I didn't send you something back? Crap. I meant to.)

I'm glad you got your yarn (and the photo of the scarf you gave me).
