I don't know of anything like that for jewelry, but I keep track of my seed beads, which is what I have the most of, by far, with a database on my computer.
I've got about $10K of seed beads, and so I have entries that help define the beads. The entries across the top are Type (letters given to sizes and types of beads by most sellers), Number (manufacturer's number), Sandi's Number (that seller's number), Betcey's Number (that seller's number), Beki's Number (that seller's number), Size, Manufacturer, Grams, Name.
This keeps me from buying seeds I already have, and it also shows me when I don't have enough of a color. I have so many now that I'm trying not to buy new, but there are some colors that are really necessary. When I finish a piece, I change the Grams part to the new number.
You can see what I make here: beadwork.mjlayman.com
Just click on the titles. I'm too lazy to make an index page and links and such.
ETA - I'm a really bad photographer, so they won't be very easy to see.
Although what got me thinking about the idea was that I'm doing an inventory so I can get rid of some stuff I no longer want, and I thought while I'm at it, I would like to put the stuff I'm keeping into a database, so I don't have to keep doing this inventory from scratch every few years...

I'm curious, how does that help you, or in what way do you use the information? and what do you make with your seed beads?
